Actin Smooth Muscle (SMA) [1A4]

This antibody recognizes actin isotypes alpha of smooth muscle and those cells with myofibroblast differentiation. It labels smooth muscular cells, myofibroblasts, and myoepithelial cells. Using this antibody with other myogenic markers such as muscle actin, desmin and vimentin will be very helpful for differentiation of tumor from muscle origin. It is a useful marker for the identification leiomyosarcomas. It is a useful marker for distinct ion benign proliferative lesions of the breast from neoplastic proliferations.
